She is the President of the New Zealand Deaf Basketball Association, hoping that the New Zealand team will attend the Deaf World International Basketball Championship Open, with selection at the New Zealand Deaf Games in Christchurch 1992. Lorraine also talks about her involvement in performing and access, emphasising that Deaf people are really no different from hearing people.
