The Canterbury Deaf Club Basketball & Netball teams travelled to Greymouth on 29 September 1978. The ‘Deaf Boys’ played against the ‘Hot Shots’ in Greymouth, with the Deaf Boys winning 67-54. While there, the Canterbury netball team plays against a hearing West Coast team. Whilst on the West Coast, the Deaf Christchurch visitors fit in a trip to check out Greymouth’s Shantytown, and to the local pub.
