Deaf Southern Star: 2016 (Vol. 38, No. 1)
Some of the items featured in the St Dominic’s Catholic Deaf Centre’s ‘Deaf Southern Star’ (Vol. 38, No. 1, 2016) newsletter:
- Two of our Catholic Deaf Leaders: Jackie Overall and Evelyn Seymour-East will be undertaking their 5th TCI paper: PM101—Church and Ministry, which I will be teaching in NZSL this year. Our aim is to have them graduate with a Diploma in Pastoral Ministry by 2018.
- Other exciting developments continuing this year include the growth of the Deaf Café organised by our Wellington Catholic group which meets every month in Lower Hutt, and further developments in strengthening our groups in the Whanganui / Taranaki regions and Hawke’s Bay. Finally, very big congratulations to Mary Johnson on becoming a Minister of the Eucharist in her parish: St. Dominic’s, Blockhouse Bay.
