  • Sr Maureen updates on her new ‘field of work’. In December 1983 she left classroom teaching for a while to take up a new job – pastoral ministry to Adult deaf people and teenagers. She shall be visiting a lot of deaf people in Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, Nelson, Taranaki, Wanganui, Wairarapa and Wellington. 
  • The Auckland Catholic Deaf Association had its Christmas Social on 18 December 1983 in the form of a fancy dress party. A good crowd turned up with 30 people. Miss Irene Harris won the Women’s section as a Japanese Lady and Mr Farrell Cunniffe won the Men’s section as Fred Dagg. 
  • St Dominic students write about their gala day on 3 March.
