Some of the items featured in ‘Ephpheta: March 1980 (Vol. 3, No. 1)’:

  • This March issue marks the beginning of the third year of the publication of our Catholic Deaf Journal, and the first under new editorship. Last year the ‘Ephpheta’ magazine edited by Father Brian Wegrzyn and the Manawatu Catholic Deaf Association was a soaring success. The magazine is now edited and published in Auckland. 
  • An advertisement for a vibrating alarm clock which costs $58.00. 
  • The annual picnic of the Manawatu Catholic Deaf Association was held on Sunday 17 February at the Kimberley Park Reserve in Levin and there were 83 people at the picnic. We invited members from the Manawatu Deaf Society with some people also coming from Wellington.
  • A total Communication Moacam Family Camp was held in Tuakau. The aim of the camp was to further interest, knowledge and fluency in Total Communication.
