'Strangers' was a TVNZ-produced drama series, including one Deaf character played by 7-year-old Sonia Pivac. This short documentary is a brief look behind the scenes of the filming process.

A look behind the scenes on the set of ‘Strangers’, a TVNZ drama series, in which 7-year-old Sonia Pivac has a significant acting role. Sonia is interviewed about her experience being the only Deaf actor and how she found communication on set. There is also a brief interview with the director Peter Sharp, who shares a story of how he got pranked. We also see some glimpses of Sonia’s life at home, with her Deaf family.
