Saturday 26 March 1977, the Christchurch Deaf Women’s Group, well known for their enjoyable Christmas parties, outings, fundraising activities and food – hosts a progressive dinner. Three courses at three different location all in one night! The entrée is held at Lillian Henwood’s place (Harewood Road), with the main at the Christchurch Deaf Club in Armagh Street (later known as the Deaf Society of Canterbury). Sweet dessert, coffee and drinks are then at Carol King’s place (Wolsey Place), along with a small drama show. Food, champagne and drama skits – Always good ingredients for a great Deaf evening!
