• An update from St Dominic’s with many ‘happenings’ during 1981. Since the opening of the swimming pool in the 1950s, water confidence has been very important. The Adult deaf, their families and friends of Manawatu will have their first get-together at a picnic on Saturday 20th February at Tokamaru Horseshoe Bed, with a cricket test planned!
• An update on the work life of deaf people and what they are doing.
• Sandra Bennett and Rosemary Brouwers were selected for the Canterbury Girls softball under 18 team. They were the only deaf girls in the team. 
• A new editor for Ephpheta is sought as Maureen will stand down at the end of 1982 due to family and business commitments.
