A signed ‘Avaro’ rugby ball signed by the 2000 Deaf Blacks team who played against the NPC (3^rd Division) Wairarapa Bush development squad at Memorial Park, Masterton. The Wairarapa Bush team beat the Deaf Blacks 59-10. A number of the Deaf Blacks were Manawatu Deaf Society members: Kevin Carroll, Steven Harvey. Stu Saunders. The Team Manager, Alan Davidson, was also from Fielding. Manawatu Deaf Society’s life member Phonse Carroll was the Co-Coach.
