Spot On interview of Deaf actor in ‘Strangers’

'Strangers' was a TVNZ-produced drama series for children, with one Deaf character played by 7-year-old Sonia Pivac. Reporter Phil Keoghan, from ‘Spot On’, interviews Sonia about being the only Deaf actor in the drama.

Phil Keoghan, from the educational TV series ‘Spot On’, visits the set of ‘Strangers’, a Margaret Mahy novel that has been made into a drama series. 7-year-old Sonia Pivac has a significant acting role in ‘Strangers’.

Sonia is interviewed about her experience being the only Deaf actor and how she found communication on set. Miranda Harcourt bridges the communication between Sonia and Phil, having learnt sign language.

Sonia is also asked about her school work while filming for the drama.
