The Christchurch team travel to Palmerston North for the NZ Deaf Sports Convention on Labour Weekend, 1976. Footage includes the plane taking off and a view of people travelling inside, as well their arrival at the motel.

The athletics is cancelled due to the grounds not being prepared, which was clearly disappointing for the athletes and spectators alike. Basketball proceeds (Christchurch 54, Auckland 57), as well as the badminton, before people dress up for social night in their best 70s clothes!
