Students from the Titirangi School for the Deaf visit the construction site of the future Kelston School for the Deaf (later Kelston Deaf Education Centre, and now Ko Taku Reo).

Kelson opened up as a school in 1958. Titirangi and Mt Wellington remained open, however, to board the students until the Kelston hotel block was finished in 1960. The boarders came each day by bus from Titirangi and Mt Wellington.
