NZ Deaf News: Spring 1966 (Vol. 4, No. 1)

Some of the items featured in the 1966 Spring Issue of ‘NZ Deaf News’ (Vol. 4, No. 1):

  • Closed circuit television will be installed at major airports so that passengers who cannot hear announcements of plane departures can see the information. This will be most helpful to the deaf.
  • Wellington hosted the 1966 Sports Convention, and hopes that all visitors to Wellington carried away happy memories of their stay. More than 150 attended with results published.
  • Senior children from Kelston made visits to Wellington, visiting the deaf classes at Te Aro, and Christchurch, where they were billeted at the School for the Deaf at Sumner.
  • Friends of the Deaf, Christchurch, has been dissolved as the Christchurch Deaf Club can now manage its own affairs without outside help.
