  • The editorial announces the upcoming annual World Games of the Deaf held in Belgrade, Yugoslavia with a record number of 33 countries competing. The participant from New Zealand is distance runner Noel Coventry.
  • St Dominic’s Shool for Deaf in Aorangi, Feilding celebrate their 25th anniversary. This weekend of celebrations with over 120 attendees marked a successful 25 years since the school’s founding in 1944.
  • The 5th NZ Deaf Table Tennis Champion was held during Queen’s birthday weekend in Auckland, the competitors shared a picnic together in Helensville. While there were not as many competitors as hoped, the standards remained high and resulted in an overall impressive performance.
  • Trevor Fear writes a column on the recent accomplishments of the Welfare Officer raising awareness of the Deaf community.
