Athletic Singlet: Manawatu Deaf Society

This white and green singlet was worn by Manawatu Deaf Society athletes during Sport Convention (New Zealand Deaf Games) competitions during Labour Weekend in the late 1980s. This was at a time when athletics was popular and a feature of the Games. Photos show the Manawatu athletics team posing for photos at the Sports Convention in Christchurch 1987 with this singlet. The singlets were also worn by the Manawatu competitors at the Miss Deaf New Zealand competition in the sports category (Debra Jamieson).
