Group Photo: Auckland Deaf Society 50th Anniversary, 1937-1987

The first photo is a group photo of Auckland Deaf Society members at the back of the 164 Balmoral Road hall, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 1987. The second photo is of ‘Under 40s’. Please note, there is another photo of ‘Over 40s’ that SignDNA does not have. If you have a copy, please contact us. There was a huge celebration to mark the 50th Anniversary, with the Deaf Centre open for those who came from afar to visit the Society. There was a special display of photographs showing some of the Society’s achievements and special lunch given for the members who were over 60 and their friends. They enjoyed a good luncheon and met old friends. The buffet saw many visitors. On Saturday, a Dine and Dance was held at Ellerslie which which was very successful.
