Memories of Keith and Irene Gordon, recorded on 27 June 2000 at their home in Manawatu where they had lived for 32 years at that time. They were both foundation members of Manawatu Deaf Society – founded on 7 July 1962.

Irene, now retired, talks about her life, work experiences, family, and meeting her husband Keith Gordon. Keith, who was awarded life membership of Manawatu Deaf Society on 16 December 2000, reminisces about living in Auckland and Waikato before returning back home to Manawatu. Keith talks about his sporting experiences – being part of the Auckland Deaf basketball team – and gaining his basketball referee certification from the referees association. He also spent time coaching where he had some success with the women’s team winning the B Grade competition.

Keith passed away on 31 May 2012.
