Join Greg Pateman where he talks at length about his life. Greg answers many questions about his journey to find work and the issues to get qualified in a biased education system. He reveals his passion is Deaf sports, and why the Southern Deaf sports teams are superior to their Central and Northern counterparts! Greg also talks about meeting his interpreter wife and starting and raising a family both in Auckland and Christchurch.

    Two men’s mixed teams played football 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Sunday 25th October 1987 at Cowles Stadium. No formal prizes were awarded for football, nor did it count for points towards the Aotearoa Turi Shield. It was for the selection of the New Zealand Deaf football team for the upcoming 1989 World Games for the Deaf in Christchurch.

    Washington Xth International Silent Games

    A New Zealand team was sent to the 10th World Deaf Games in Washington, USA during June-July 1965. An appeal for funds was made resulting in a team of 15 athletes and a management committee of four attending the Games. New Zealand gained one Bronze Medal from the swimming events when Rossell MacKenzie finished third in the 400 metres freestyle.
