Michael Lynch participated the men’s over 84kg Kumite and surprisingly he beat the Russian and won gold.

The latest medal for Michael Lynch in karate brings his total to three medals from two Deaflympics. In Christchurch 1989, he won two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m butterfly.
