Some of the items featured in Auckland Deaf Society’s August 2009 newsletter:

  • On Friday 17 July 2009, 17 cars were towed away from the entrance of the car park. The disabled parking, grass area and sides of the driveway was full of cars. People are asked to please park at the Warehouse which is only two minutes walk away. And congratulations to the first winner of ADS’s jackpot – Ray Jenkins! He won $300. 
  • The Auckland Fishing Club organised a social evening, with the theme being ‘Vice Versa’ – people are asked to dress up as the opposite sex. Brent Ryder and Christine Ryder were the fancy dress winners. 
  • Northern delegates attended the Deaf Sports New Zealand workshop and AGM in Christchurch. There will be a New Zealand team attending the Taipei 2009 Deaflympics in September 2009.
