Kathleen French, Auckland’s ‘Deaf Grandmother’ and a life member of Auckland Deaf Society celebrates her 90th birthday party at the Balmoral clubroom on 24 May 2003. She had a birthday lunch with approximately 140 people attending, with many of them in fancy dress costume! Auckland Deaf Society gave her a voucher for two nights in Rotorua as a present. Kathleen was heavily involved in ADS since its formation in 1937 with her areas of interest being in development, fundraising, sports and social.
