Auckland Deaf Society newsletter: September 1962

Some of the items featured in Auckland Deaf Society’s September 1962 newsletter:

  • The Club’s Jubilee Dinner and Silver Jubilee Ball was a great success. On Friday, everyone arrived at 7.00pm for cocktails. Dinner was served at 8.00pm. Short speeches were made during dinner. Mr and Mrs Steel as the oldest members cut the three tier birthday cake. At the ball, the debutantes were presented to Mr and Mrs Robinson, Mayor and Mayoress of Auckland. On Sunday 26, there was a gathering of members and visitors for afternoon tea with one hundred adults, thirty children and one very large dog to wind up the weekend.
  • Members are requested to confirm if they are interested in going to the Sports Convention in Wellington 1963. The next newsletter will confirm how we plan to go to Wellington.
