Some of the items featured in Auckland Deaf Society’s June 1962 newsletter:

  • The Club’s membership now stands over a hundred financial members!
  • A Mad Hatters evening is planned for the Club’s Monthly meeting. People are asked to wear their silliest hats (or their wifes!) to win a prize. Anyone arriving without a hat will have to pay a fine. The MC will be Ken Brain. 
  • An upcoming bus trip to Whangarei for a social and dance has been organised, leaving on Saturday 10am, returning on Sunday. 
  • The Hamilton Deaf Club’s 6th birthday celebrations were held on 26 May 1962. Over fifty of our members visited Hamilton to wish them a happy birthday!
