The Manawatu Deaf Society clubroom is jam-packed as the club celebrates its 30th anniversary. Rodney Roberts takes us on a small trip around the Totara Road clubroom. The club was founded in 1962 by Joan Bailey and was originally named the Manawatu Deaf Sports Club. Later it was changed to the Manawatu Deaf Society.

On the same weekend, there was also a game of rugby on between the Northern and Southern Regions (the second National Deaf Sevens tournament). The Southern Region won the game, 28 to 13. Some of the boys pop into join the 30th celebrations.
