Despite having no fishing experience, Auckland Deaf Society President Ngaire Doherty landed a massive 4.78kg snapper aboard Richard Hay’s boat during the Women’s Power Fishing event on Kaipara Harbour. Her impressive catch went on to win the Auckland Fishing Club’s ‘Heaviest Snapper of the Year’ award – beating out seasoned anglers for the title!
