Auckland Deaf Society newsletter: November 1962

Some of the items featured in Auckland Deaf Society’s November 1962 newsletter:

  • Thirty-five members of ADS visited Paihia for the Labour Weekend. They travelled from Auckland on Friday, added two to their numbers at Whangarei. It was a novelty for many of the male members having to cook their own meals, but one that they thoroughly enjoyed.
  • Due to the lack of interest, it was decided that the Auckland Club would not be competing in the Sports Annual Convention (Wellington 1963). Two members were elected to represent our Society at the Conference – Ken Brain and Owen Gibbons.
  • The Society’s Annual Fair will be held on 17 November. This is the big day! Anyone that will have cakes or sweets to sell, please bring them along fairly early so we can get them on the stalls!
