The finished result
The result of Dick Poole’s efforts (see P1 pictures) was the official team photograph of 112.
The team mascot is in the centre of the front row, behind are the coaches and team officials. In the centre (in dark jackets) are Dick (from left) Robert Cameron, the assistant team manager, Norman Norris, the team manager, Tony Walton and Shona McGhie, delegates.
The New Zealand team has competitors in every sport except handball. Twenty-six members are from Canterbury.
National Provident provided $25,000 towards team expenses but each team member still had to raise about $900 to attend the games, which began on Saturday.
