Coverage of the Trans-Tasman Deaf Games, Lincoln College, Christchurch, 10 January 1979, including the Australia Deaf Sports team arriving Christchurch airport. The Australian team along with several Christchurch Deaf visit Sumner School for the Deaf.

Games between the Australian and Christchurch teams included lawn bowls, basketball, cheerleading, table-tennis and badminton.

A traditional Māori wero greats the athletes on arrival and opens the Games.
