Tee shirt: International Year of Disabled Persons, Wellington Deaf Society, 1981

A yellow shirt with black trim and a Kiwi pointing to its ear (‘Deaf’) on the front. 1981 was the International Year of Disabled Persons with many fundraising activities on that year. Wellington Deaf Society members were asked to wear their ‘Kiwi Tee Shirts’ at events, such as Walkathons, Telethons and fun day sport day competitions. The Club’s President Gary Howell made a pledge on Telethon at Avalon Television Studios.
