Deaf Games basketballers sign in
The members of the New Zealand deaf team signed into the Ilam games village yesterday.
The 112 team members are competing in 11 of the 12 events at the 16th World Games for the Deaf.
The Games, which are being attended by 1400 athletes and officials, kick off on Saturday.
Most of those attending are staying at Canterbury University.
First to put pen to paper was Malcolm Clausen, second from left, of Hoon Hay. He is watched by other members of the men’s basketball team.
Twenty-six members of the team are from Canterbury, among them medal hope Frank Watson.
