A group of Deaf people make a trip to the Helensville Hot Pools (now Parakai Springs Aquatic Park). Some people are picked up from the Auckland Railway Station. On the way, they stop for ice-cream at Waiatarua (464 Scenic Drive, Waitakere), a small settlement at the top of the Waitakere Ranges. At the pools the men play chicken fights.
