The cat came back, four months late

Royce and Robyn Flynn of Grenada Village owned three cats, but Alf was their favourite so they were upset when he disappeared four months ago.

The couple, who are deaf, had just arrived at the village from Broderick Road in Johnsonville. Despite an intensive search Alf could not be found so they eventually got another cat.

“We love animals,” says Robyn. So does Matthew their 5½-month-old son who had established a bond with the affectionate Alf.

Then, out of the blue, the couple were contacted by their former neighbour Pamela Strike. “Alf turned up on Tuesday night, on the doorstep of the Flynns’ old home,” she said. “He was crying and I brought him into my house. As he was fatter than before, someone must have fed him.”
