Over the years a number of young Deaf people have received scholarships of various kinds to enable them to attend Gallaudet College (now University) in Washington D.C. In this 1981 film, produced by Gallaudet College Television, Deaf New Zealander Stephen Leach discusses his experiences of studying at Gallaudet, and gives us a tour of the campus, and a taste of Deaf student life.

Note: Stephen uses mainly American Sign Language (ASL) in his descriptions. The video quality is poor in places.
